The program Hack Lite was developed by Alan Beale, under the auspices of
the Software Distillery and Home Brew Software, Inc. Hack Lite is based in
large measure on the UNIX and IBM PC implementations of Hack. A lesser
influence is the NetHack implementation. For a full list of contributors
to this software, select the "About Hack" menu item while playing the game.
Hack Lite is Copyright © 1992 by Alan Beale.
Hack Lite is freely-redistributable software, with restrictions as
described below, on redistribution, porting, and modification.
Permission is granted to redistribute the Hack Lite program and data files
provided the following conditions are met:
1. All files present in the distribution package must be redistributed
with the package, including this documentation file. If you
distribute on diskette, all files must be on a single diskette.
2. The distributor may charge a fee to recover distribution costs.
The fee for diskette distribution should not be more than the cost
to obtain the same diskette from Fred Fish.
3. The distributor agrees to cease distributing the programs and data
involved if requested to do so by Home Brew Software, Inc. Names
of members of Home Brew Software, Inc. are listed above.
Home Brew Software encourages ports of Hack Lite to other systems.
Modifications for purposes of porting should be limited to the areas of
user interface (e.g., graphical presentation) and system interface (e.g.,
save file space management). If you are interested in porting Hack Lite,
please contact Alan Beale (E-mail: ponds!squink!biljir@dg-rtp.dg.com).
